It is a great moment for me to welcome fresh batch of candidates who intend to seek admission in Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Jamshoro which is the first ever public sector Medical University imparting quality Medical Education established through an ordinance promulgated by the houourable Governor Sindh on 20th January, 2001. I hope with the transparent practice and process adopted by the university the entire admission system will keep satisfied all the applicants whether they qualify or not. Indeed this prospectus would guide the interested candidates during entire process for seeking admission in M.B.B.S or BDS programs of LUMHS for the session 2009-2010.
The university is struggling hard to provide facilities for quality education and research. In this regard many development plans are in process to establish world class laboratories and other teaching and training facilities. You would be enjoying most modern IT facilities and distant learning services to augment your learning process.
Recently we have shifted the decades old teaching process to a modern integrated teaching system and have introduced the semester system to come abreast with the system prevailing in most of the developing or developed countries. The use of computer intelligence and the most modern optical scanners has rationalized the examination system towards its accuracy and effectiveness. The anticipated biometric system of attendance would surely benefit the regular students and will reduce any personal favoritism either under political or any other pressure. The student counseling would be tuned very soon to provide assistance not only for local facilities but also for advance studies or research abroad. All these efforts are made to make teaching environment more students friendly and encourage merit at large.
